R-Type Coming Soon to Android

One of the most recognized and well-known shooters ever will soon be making it’s way to Android devices.

R-Type will be making it’s way to Android devices on September 12th. DotEmu will be porting Irem’s classic over via the Android Marketplace and Amazon’s App Store. The game sees the return of all the familiar power-ups and items but ditches the joystick/button controls in support of touch control. No news has been reported on whether there will be support for button control. There has been no confirmation on pricing or OS version requirements but, we’ll be here to report that when it become available.
